Michel Oksenberg is a senior fellow of the Asia/Pacific Research Center at Stanford University. He served as president of the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, from 1992 to 1995, and taught at the University of Michigan from 1973 to 1992. His recent publications include The Chinese Future (1997).
