About the Author
Enrique Krauze, a Mexican historian, has written numerous books, including Siglo de Caudillos, 1810–1910 (1994) and Mexico: Biography of Power (English translation published in 1997). He was the coeditor with Octavio Paz of the Mexican intellectual journal Vuelta and is currently the editor of a new journal, Letras Libres.
