About the Author

Roberto E. Blum is a senior professional with the Centro de Investigación para el Desarrollo, an independent public-policy think tank in Mexico City. He has taught law and political science at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and Durango State University. Formerly a senior political consultant to the secretary of education and the director of Mexico’s Science and Technology Council, he is the author of De la política mexicana y sus medios (1996).
