About the Author
Henri Barkey is associate professor of international relations at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and has been a visiting scholar at the Middle East Institute at Columbia University. He is the author of The State and the Industrialization Crisis in Turkey (1990), as well as the editor of The Politics of Economic Reform in the Middle East (1992).
