About the Author

William A. Galston is the Ezra K. Zilkha Chair in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution and College Park Professor at the University of Maryland. From 1993 to 1995, he was deputy assistant to President Bill Clinton for domestic policy. His new book Anti-Pluralism: The Populist Threat to Liberal Democracy was published by Yale University Press in March 2018.
